Fabulous Fringe partnership extended to 2017
In fantastic news for South Australia, BankSA has committed to be the Principal Partner of the Adelaide Fringe for an additional four years, in a partnership that now extends to 2017. The relationship between the two organisations has been going strong since 2006 and the new extension will also include the milestone 10th anniversary of the organisations’ affiliation in 2015.
BankSA Managing Director Jane Kittel said it is a fantastic partnership and the bank is excited to be associated with the Fringe for another four years.
“The Adelaide Fringe is a truly brilliant South Australian event that is important to the cultural, social and economic fabric of the State and we are proud to have played our part in helping the event grow and prosper,’’ she said.
“The energy and optimism that reverberates throughout Adelaide during Fringe time is fantastic and we look forward to the Fringe gaining even more momentum’’.
Adelaide Fringe Chair Judy Potter said the Fringe could now move forward with even greater purpose and vision.
“The Adelaide Fringe continues to go from strength to strength and the long-standing partnership with BankSA is a huge part of this success,” she said.
“Year after year BankSA goes above and beyond its partnership commitments and has become an integral element of the Fringe, so much so that it is hard to envision the Fringe without it.”
SA Premier JayWeatherill welcomed the announcement . “Every time we set the Adelaide Fringe a new challenge, it proves to be a success,’’ Mr Weatherill said.
“It’s great to see BankSA has also shown its confidence in the Adelaide Fringe by extending its partnership. I look forward to joining hundreds of thousands of South Australians and visitors enjoying this year’s event,’’ he said.
Adelaide Fringe Director Greg Clarke said BankSA was crucial in supporting up and coming talent in the State through its unwavering support of the arts in South Australia.
Ms Potter added “We are absolutely thrilled to have BankSA as our Principal Partner for a further four years. Jane (Kittel) and her teams’ dedication to the Adelaide Fringe and all the people that make up the Fringe has been unwavering,” she said.
“It is fantastic to see this level of community engagement in action.”
Ms Kittel said the bank had worked hard on several of its own innovative programs over the years to help the Fringe grow and to enhance the experience for the Fringe artists, the lifeblood of the event.
Those programs include Support Act, where BankSA subsidises the ticket prices to almost 120 shows and keeps the cost down to a low $10 each, which in turn drives audience numbers and word of mouth to help the artists themselves.
BankSA has been delighted to support its customers through the partnership, providing the opportunity to buy tickets to Fringe shows 48 hours before the general public.
For the broader community, it also presents the BankSA Free Concerts in the Garden of Unearthly Delights in Adelaide’s East End at 5.30pm until 6.30pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights during the Fringe, as well as selected Thursday nights.
BankSA also runs the hugely successful talkfringe.com website where arts lovers can rate and review shows and find out all sorts of Fringe-related information, while BankSA customers are able to buy tickets to Fringe shows 48 hours before the general public.
