Olympic champion Michael Klim dives into The Watson
Australian swimming legend and Olympic gold medallist Michael Klim will use his love of the pool to act as a design consultant on The Watson Apartments and Hotel’s recreation deck and pool.
The pool will be the first residential pool he’s helped design and builds on his relationship with The Watson’s sister hotel, The Olsen in Melbourne, where Klim lives when he’s in Australia.
His family, wife Lindy and children Stella, Frankie and Rocco, are based in Bali but travel regularly to Australia to visit friends and family and to oversee the continued expansion of his skincare products company Milk & Co.
Milk & Co products will be a feature in all The Watson’s hotel rooms when it opens in April 2014.
Michael will be in Adelaide today (March 13) to meet with the project architects and to tour the building, which is currently under construction. He will also attend a VIP for function tonight for early registrants on the project database.
Asian Pacific Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr Will Deague, said we’re delighted to have Michael on the project team for the development of the $120 million The Watson Apartments and Hotel.
“Michael has enjoyed a long relationship with Art Series Hotels through his frequent stays at The Olsen and has become an unofficial and highly valued ambassador,” said Mr Deague.
“Adding Michael’s expertise to the team will further add to the high quality of the project, which is shaping up to be the most unique and stylish apartment building and boutique hotel in South Australia.”
This Saturday (March 16), the apartments go on sale to the public with prices for a one bedroom apartment starting from just $270,000 and a two bedroom apartment from $360,000. An onsite Information Centre along with four display apartments will be open from midday.
The apartments are priced to make the apartments accessible, particularly to younger buyers, and give them a unique chance to buy into the blue ribbon suburb of Walkerville.
Ninety per cent of the 210 apartments will be priced between $270,000 and $400,000. The project will include just one exclusive penthouse level where apartments will be priced from $1.2 million.
Residents at The Watson will enjoy an enviable lifestyle with full access to the Hotel facilities which will include eateries operated by renowned restaurateurs, a commercial business centre, an artist in residence studio, pool, health and recreational facilities.
The Watson is named after Tommy Watson, a senior Pitjantjatjara elder, and one of Australia's most collectable indigenous artists.
The Watson will be the fourth Art Series Hotel in Australia and a sister hotel to The Cullen, The Olsen and The Blackman in Melbourne. Each Art Series Hotel is designed to embody an iconic Australian artist’s individual style and characteristics.
