Black Sheep appoints new managing director
Black Sheep Advertising has landed a major coup with the appointment of widely respected industry veteran John McLaren as the company’s new Managing Director.
Joining the Adelaide-based agency with almost 30 years of industry experience, Mr McLaren’s appointment further strengthens the management team at Black Sheep, which also recently promoted Cera O’Grady as General Manager.
Black Sheep owner and Creative Director Andrew Millar is delighted to welcome Mr McLaren to the firm, which continues to develop its reputation as one of South Australia’s top advertising agencies.
“There are not too many people in Adelaide, or the rest of the country for that matter, who can boast the same level of industry experience as John, so we’re really pleased to welcome him to the Black Sheep flock,” said Mr Millar.
“His ideas, leadership and business nous will benefit the entire team and help us deliver an even better service to our growing list of corporate clients.”
In addition to long-standing clients such as Adelaide Development Company, Scotch College and the Bowden development, Black Sheep also recently picked up the accounts for Anglicare, Ergo Apartments, Repromed and the Country Fire Service in SA.
As the current Chairman of the Communications Council in South Australia, Mr McLaren is excited to join Black Sheep after roles at Clemenger BBDO, Young & Rubicam, Bottomline, George Patterson and FCB Hocking.
“Black Sheep has such a fantastic young team of keen, creative communicators, so it’s a great opportunity for me to share my experience and help guide the agency to more success in the future,” said Mr McLaren, who also currently sits on the Advertising Standards Board and the Board of the Australian Medical Association.
“I’m also really looking forward to working with the many great brands that Black Sheep continues to drive, and to help source new growth opportunities in South Australia and across the country.”
