Ergo apartments sell out
First stage success builds foundation for second stage sales
Apartments in the first stage release of new inner-city development Ergo have sold out.
The 52 apartments that make up the Stage 1 offering in the stylish low-rise residential development on Sturt Street are now all sold less than a year after being launched to the market.
Project partners Hindmarsh Development and the Adelaide City Council are thrilled with the reaction from buyers to Ergo, which is providing a range of apartment types to cater for first homebuyers through to higher-end penthouse buyers.
“Announcing that all apartments in the first stage release of Ergo are completely sold out is terrific news for purchasers and a major milestone for the project,” said Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood.
“Ergo is a fantastic urban development breathing new life into the up-and-coming south-western quarter of the CBD. It’s been meticulously planned to increase the number and diversity of people living in the city, so the sales result is an excellent outcome.”
In addition to medium and higher end apartments at Ergo, Stage 1 offers more specialised options for homebuyers as a result of the project’s Federal Government funding and an innovative shared equity scheme the Council has developed with HomeStart.
“Being able to obtain funding through the Federal Government’s Housing Affordability Fund for a portion of the apartments at Ergo has certainly helped open the door to many young homebuyers,” said Stephen.
“So in addition to the medium and higher end apartments within Ergo, the development is also catering for young first homebuyers who otherwise would be locked out of the inner-city property market.”
The 98 apartments in the second stage of Ergo are now on sale and are already attracting plenty of interest among buyers, according to Hindmarsh Development Manager Morry Canala.
“The south-western quarter of the Adelaide CBD is enjoying a real revival as a property hotspot, with Ergo representing a great opportunity for a range of homebuyers to secure the inner-city lifestyle they want,” he said.
“Construction is coming along really well in addition to sales, and we’re still anticipating welcoming our first residents before the end of the year.”
Designed by leading architecture firm Hames Sharley, Ergo offers the best that city living has to offer, with its central location giving residents easy access to public transport, the Adelaide Central Market and the restaurants of Gouger Street.
“Ergo is not your typical big box city development,” said Mr Canala.
“Considerable effort has gone into the aesthetics of the buildings to make them visually appealing both inside and out, while the apartments themselves are spacious and really well spread out from a density perspective.
“The project will also incorporate 20% public open space including a central piazza, while security measures such as underground car parking for residents and secure bike storage are also proving popular with buyers.”
Ergo will ultimately comprise 178 high quality one, two and three-bedroom apartments situated around a multi-purpose community building that will become the hub of the development.
