SIDS and Kids pay tribute to amazing SA women
The achievements of four successful South Australian women will be celebrated at a SIDS and Kids SA fundraising luncheon this month.
Business owner and philanthropist Maria Kenda, SA businesswoman and entrepreneur Angelique Boileau, media personality Jane Doyle and Nursing and Midwifery Professor Pauline Glover will share their inspiring stories at the High Tea luncheon which will raise much-needed funds towards the valuable work of SIDS and Kids.
SIDS and Kids SA CEO Samantha Mead said that each of the women were truly inspiring.
“In addition to working exceptionally hard to achieve success in their careers, the women all give back to their community through philanthropy, volunteer work and other initiatives.”
“At SIDS and Kids SA, we speak to amazing and strong women from across the State almost every day in our work supporting families who have experienced the death of a child.”
“In our 35th year, we’re looking forward to celebrating the strength of women through a wonderful day of fine food and wine in the picturesque surroundings of one of Adelaide’s most prestigious historical landmarks.”

ABOUT SIDS AND KIDS SA
Established in 1977, by a group of parents as the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Association of South Australia Inc, the organisations main aim was to raise funds for research and to educate the community about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Since the inception of the SIDS safe sleeping campaign in the early 1990’s, the incidence of SIDS has reduced by 85% saving over 6000 babies lives.
Today, SIDS and Kids has a much broader charter beyond SIDS encompassing support for families who experience the sudden unexpected death of an infant or child from 20 weeks gestation to 6 years of age, education programs to reduce infant mortality and funding of research to find the causes of these deaths.
SIDS and Kids SA is celebrating their 35th anniversary in 2012. SIDS and Kids principal fundraiser, Red Nose Day will celebrate 25 years of being silly for a serious cause on Friday 29 June 2012.
