Impact100 South Australia invites applications for $100,000 high impact grant
After a highly successfully inaugural year, philanthropic cooperative, Impact100 South Australia has launched its 2015/16 grant giving theme which has a strong focus on supporting local families.
Impact100 SA Management Committee Chair, Geoff Day, today announced that in the coming 12 months, Impact100 will look to support “a project or initiative that strengthens families in South Australia, including programs that focus on parenting, domestic violence and kinship care.”
Impact100 SA brings together at least one hundred members who each donate $1000 annually. The contributions are pooled to make large impact grants to South Australian-based projects, which are collectively chosen by Impact100 members at an annual Grants Awards event.
Mr Day said the organisation was thrilled with the continued support by existing and new members, who are drawn from the South Australian business and philanthropic community.
“Impact100 SA is a group of like-minded individuals who believe that by working together we can make a positive difference to the lives of fellow South Australians,” he said.
“We do this by combining our resources to make a highly impactful $100,000 grant to a South Australian-based organisation which is making a difference in the community.”
In May this year, the inaugural $100,000 grant was awarded to Kickstart for Kids, a local not-for-profit organisation that provides breakfasts, lunches and mentoring to disadvantaged school children in South Australia. The grant has helped the charity raise its profile and it has gained even more support and plan to widen its programs as a result of the grant.
The next round of Impact100 SA applications opened on July 30 and closes at 5pm, on October 14, 2015. Applications are open to not-for-profit organisations delivering services to aid South Australian families, in line with this year’s theme.
