Retirement living to reach new heights with The Brougham granted development approval
Retirement living in Adelaide is set to reach new heights with development approval granted for The Brougham today by the Development Assessment Commission.
A $200 million development, The Brougham will offer retirees spacious residences, sweeping views of the city and unrivalled services and facilities.
Located on Brougham Place, North Adelaide, The Brougham is a fully master planned development which will incorporate more than 90 high-rise retirement residences across three buildings with heights scaled from 9 to 16 storeys.
A fourth building is for a 100 key serviced apartment complex for short, medium and long term stay guests to be operated by a yet to be chosen professional serviced apartment operator, and incorporating ground floor retail, restaurants and cafes.
The Brougham will mark a new era in retirement living in Adelaide with future residents having access to exceptional facilities including rooftop private dining, bar and meeting room and private internal gardens as well as concierge, chauffeur and other services.
The Brougham’s Retirement Living Consultant Loretta Byers said The Brougham will offer something never seen before in Adelaide.
“The Brougham is a once in a generation opportunity to retire in the city’s best suburb in a purpose built development that brings together unsurpassed location, design, services and lifestyle benefits,” said Mrs Byers.
“The residences themselves will provide new living and lifestyle retirement accommodation options in the form of elegant, contemporary, secure and spacious low-maintenance apartments.
“We’ve already received strong interest for the project and expect this to increase significantly as plans for The Brougham evolve over the coming months.
“People who register their interest now will be given exclusive personal access to more detailed plans for the project as well as the opportunity to help shape the future development including The Brougham’s services, amenities and interiors.”
Appointed project architect Mr Paul Pruszinski said The Brougham represents a rare opportunity to down-size from the family home and move into a lock-up and leave lifestyle environment whilst staying close to the things they enjoy - and they’re the needs we’re looking to meet.
“Apartments in the project will make extensive use of glass to take advantage of uninterrupted views, while maximising balcony space with conservatories to bring the outdoors indoors and ensure it can be enjoyed all year round”, said Mr Pruszinski.
“Other features of the residences include high ceilings, abundant light, room for storage, relaxing and hanging favourite art, spacious kitchens with premium appliances and expansive living areas.”
Being a gateway North Adelaide site overlooking the City, the development is expected to further stimulate trade and activity along O’Connell Street by bringing new residents to North Adelaide in tandem with other major projects planned in the area.
The Brougham is planned to be developed in stages, commencing at the eastern end of the site and moving west. The rate at which each stage is rolled out will reflect market demand.
Registered buyers will be personally invited to view more detailed project plans from late February. The Brougham is expected to go to the market in late 2016 with registrants given the first opportunity to purchase.
Prices for two bedroom and three bedroom apartments are expected to be priced mostly in a range between $750,000 and $1.5 million. Price ranges for the limited number of luxury sub-penthouse and penthouse residences are yet to be determined.
Interested parties can register their interest at www.thebrougham.com.au or by calling Loretta Byers on 0488 11 22 55.
