Eos by SkyCity marks new dawn for luxury hotels in Adelaide
Today marked a new dawn for luxury hotels in Adelaide with SkyCity unveiling Eos by SkyCity as the brand for its Adelaide hotel, the centrepiece of the $330 million expansion set to open in late 2020.
SkyCity unveiled the new hotel brand today (April 22) alongside a completed ‘Radiance River Suite’ to demonstrate the quality, luxury and attention to detail that guests will experience when staying with Eos by SkyCity.
Eos by SkyCity Adelaide General Manager Jodi Brown says the name Eos has even more significance following an incredibly challenging period for hotel, hospitality and tourism operators; “Named for the Greek Goddess of Dawn, Eos is an embodiment of hope and optimism. We are incredibly optimistic that the tourism industry will recover, and we are looking forward to Eos by SkyCity playing an important role in bringing visitors back to South Australia when the time is right.”
A suite of signature experiences will be offered to guests at Eos by SkyCity including in-room styling, post-flight treatments, personal training, and an on-call mixologist providing an in-room custom cocktail service. A team of chefs will be on hand to prepare any meal upon request to give guests a taste of home.
Ms Brown said we’re inviting guests to ‘live, extraordinary’.
“While luxurious, Eos by SkyCity will also create a welcoming environment where guests immediately feel at home, said Ms Brown.
“From the time they walk through the door, our guests will be welcomed to a new realm of luxury, where a love for the unexpected meets deep local knowledge. Where subtle gestures underpin indulgent experiences.”
Construction of the 12-storey, $330 million SkyCity Adelaide expansion including the new hotel is continuing, with work on the sweeping, curved golden façade of the building now complete and attention turning to the interior fit-out which includes the completion of the first corner suite. With interiors designed by Hecker Guthrie and Walter Brooke, local South Australian artists, producers and manufacturers feature prominently.
In addition to the 120 room luxury hotel, there will also be new restaurants and bars, conference and event facilities, a spa and wellness centre and expanded gaming experiences. SkyCity Adelaide General Manager, David Christian said the new hotel and world-class entertainment precinct is really taking shape.
“We are looking forward to working with the wider tourism industry to shine a light on South Australia as a destination and play our part in attracting visitors back to our state when the tourism industry begins to recover.”
Premier Steven Marshall said “This is an exciting development in the heart of the CBD that is sure to become a major tourism drawcard.
“As a proud South Australian I look forward to welcoming back visitors when the time is right, and to exceeding their expectations with our great local experiences and hospitality.”
With the Adelaide Casino building currently closed due to COVID-19 regulations, Mr Christian says “The priority for SkyCity Adelaide is to ensure our staff are supported through this time and can come back to their workplace and SkyCity family as soon as it is safe to do so.
We are pleased that our construction projects can continue both on the expansion and hotel site, and within our beautiful heritage building. We look forward to reopening and showing off the restoration works that have been taking place.”
Bookings will open for Eos by SkyCity today (April 22) with the first guests expected to be welcomed in late 2020.
