Cohen Group appoints Burnside Village Centre General Manager
The Cohen Group has appointed Jodie Kannane, a highly experienced Centre General Manager in retail, finance and tourism, to manage South Australia’s favourite fashion and lifestyle shopping centre, Burnside Village.
Jodie has held comparable senior roles, most recently as the General Manager of Adelaide Central Market Authority for five years, during which she steered the Central Market’s 150-year anniversary, navigated the Market during COVID, led the focus on trader relationships and customer experience and shaped the Strategic Plan including the Market expansion.
Jodie is tasked with the stewardship of the Cohen Group’s multi-million-dollar investment in the Stage Six expansion of Burnside Village that will incorporate three levels of retail including a new premium mall, a new dining experience, home and lifestyle, entertainment, and a health and wellbeing precinct. Once complete, it will boast an additional 80 new stores, a doubling of the footprint to 38,850m2 and an increase in free undercover carparks to 560 that includes EV charging.
The Cohen Group Chief Executive Officer, Gregg Downer, said they are delighted to have secured someone of Jodie’s calibre and experience to support its exciting evolution and cement Burnside Village’s reputation as a world-class shopping destination.
“Jodie’s leadership experience and business acumen will be invaluable in steering Burnside Village’s significant growth and realise our vision as the premium South Australian destination for shopping, fashion, lifestyle, dining, and entertainment.
“We are also confident in Jodie’s demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships through collaboration and trust,” said Mr Downer.
The Stage Six development aims to provide unrivalled customer destination experience, attracting visitors from across metropolitan Adelaide, interstate and overseas with high-end national and global brands to deliver a fashion experience like no other.
Newly appointed Centre General Manager, Jodie Kannane, said it is an exciting time to join the Burnside Village Centre Management team.
“I am looking forward to supporting the Stage Six development, alongside leading the commercial, operational and marketing for the Burnside Village to enhance its reputation as a vibrant destination that provides a unique retail experience to customers.
“I am also eager to build strong relationships with existing, potential and new tenants while putting customers at the heart of everything we do,” said Ms Kannane.
