Flinders Port Holdings among Australia’s best privately-managed companies
South Australian-based Flinders Port Holdings has been named one of nine leading private Australian companies recognised for its outstanding business performance in Deloitte Australia’s 2023 Best Managed Companies awards.
Now in its fourth year – and run in association with Google Cloud and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia – the Best Managed Companies program identifies and celebrates privately-owned and managed companies across Australia that set high standards of business performance, shining a light on the power of private businesses as innovators and major contributors to Australia’s economy.
The program’s independent judges challenged and evaluated the strengths of the applicants across four key pillars: strategy; culture and commitment; capabilities and innovation; and governance and financials.
Flinders Port Holdings’ chief executive Stewart Lammin said: “This is our fourth consecutive year participating in Deloitte’s Best Managed Companies awards, and our third win, which is testament to the strong team we have leading our organisation.
“While it has been a challenging period for the ports industry in recent years, our FPH team have worked effectively to ensure we have continued to grow our services and improve our operations, and we appreciate their efforts.”
Natalie Faull, Deloitte Private lead partner and Best Managed Companies Asia Pacific leader, said: “Our Best Managed Companies program is about celebrating the passion, dynamism, resilience and focus on sustainable growth that typify Australia’s best managed private businesses.
“Just like Flinders Port Holdings, they are purpose-driven, disciplined organisations, industry leaders and significant employers. They are navigating the future with confidence, and setting a very high bar for what success can look like for private businesses in Australia.”
