West Beach Parks partners with Discovery Parks to grow holiday park visitation
Two iconic South Australian tourism brands will join forces from December with West Beach Parks entering a partnership with Discovery Parks for the West Beach Parks Holiday Park.
From December 1, 2024 the holiday park will be known as Discovery Parks – West Beach Parks.
Discovery Parks is a South Australian based operator of holiday parks and resorts with more than 85 destinations around the country and is part of the G’day Parks network of more than 300 holiday parks.
The brand partnership will leverage the organisations’ mutual strengths and competitive advantages, including providing West Beach Parks with access to the more than 750,000 Australians who book with Discovery Parks and G’day Parks each year.
Discovery Parks’ commitment to the growth of its brand and technological innovation align well with West Beach Parks values and future goals, including sales growth.
The partnership relates to the branding, including naming rights, and complementary sales and marketing for the West Beach Parks Holiday Park, with the park to be bookable via the Discovery Parks and G’day Parks booking platforms from December 1.
The management and operation of West Beach Parks Holiday Park will remain the responsibility of the West Beach Parks.
The decision to partner with Discovery Parks follows a comprehensive expression of interest process and the recommendation of an Independent Evaluation Panel. The process was undertaken to test the market and ensure that West Beach Parks has the most competitive and strategic brand partnership in place for the holiday park.
Minister for Housing and Urban Development Nick Champion the new partnership would see two iconic South Australian brands join forces to create a bigger and better tourism destination.
“West Beach Parks Holiday Park is the largest holiday park in the state, so it’s important to be partnered with a local company, employing South Australians,” he said.
“The partnership will leverage each company’s branding and competitive advantages to help grow visitation.
“Local procurement is an important factor helping drive the state’s economy, which has been ranked the best in Australia for the third consecutive quarter by CommSec.”
West Beach Parks CEO Kate Anderson said she was excited about the opportunities ahead with the brand partnership with Discovery Parks.
“West Beach Parks Holiday Park will have access to Discovery Parks’ strong loyalty members and will be marketed through the Discovery Parks and G’day websites,” she said.
“The partnership will enable us to reach new markets from within South Australia and interstate through complementary marketing activities undertaken by West Beach Parks and Discovery Parks.
“We look forward to working closely with the Discovery Parks team to make this new partnership a success.”
Discovery Parks Founder and Chief Executive Officer Grant Wilckens said following a competitive Expression of Interest process, we are excited to have been awarded the brand licence for West Beach Parks Holiday Park.
“West Beach Parks Holiday Park is one of the most exceptional holiday parks in the country and a flagship addition to our much-loved national network of Discovery Parks,” said Mr Wilckens.
“This is an exciting partnership for South Australian tourism, and we look forward to working closely with the West Beach Trust to grow visitation to the State through this iconic property.”
