Having been based in London but working globally, Sam has over 15 years’ experience both in-house and within agency environments, working across a range of sectors including technology, renewable energy, mining, and commodities.
Before moving to Adelaide and joining Hughes in 2019, Sam was most recently Director of Outreach, and Co-Head of Advisory and Knowledge at Berlin-based responsible sourcing company RCS Global Group. While at RCS he focussed on fostering engagement between the mining sector and global ICT and auto companies within the battery metals market.
He had previously founded the successful boutique communications consultancy, Sorensen in London, where he worked with affiliate partners in Europe, New York, and Sub-Saharan Africa as well as a team of associates spanning TV production, journalism, international development, technology, and government.
Sam has held senior roles within organisations ranging from Chatham House (The Royal Institute of International Affairs); the Tony Blair Africa Governance Initiative (AGI); and Arachnys Information Systems, while also spending several years in consultancy.
Sam has also undertaken training and strategic consultancy for organisations such as VSO, the ONE Foundation, the Bond INGO network, and several UK and international governments and political figures.
